April through Mid-June
High Volume Dove & Pigeon
Inti Malal is a beautiful Five Star lodge, yet very comfortable and relaxed. The lodge is approximately 12,000 square feet with 8 large double bedrooms. Each room has an ensuite bathroom, which allows up to 16 shooters to be at the lodge. Single accommodations are available with advance notice. We can easily accommodate smaller groups and pair them up with other shooters at the lodge. If you want the lodge private to your own group the minimum number of shooters is 8. Even when the lodge is full, there is plenty of room to relax and not feel crowded. Inti Malal is great for families and friends, or business development / client entertainment trips.
The food and service are both outstanding. All of the staff are well trained and no detail is overlooked. They also have a great pool, as well as a spa with a jacuzzi and a masseuse. The lodge has wifi and good phone service as well.
The season at Inti Malal runs from April 1 – Mid September. Earlier and later months are warmer and the winter months of May through August are much cooler.
The Dove shooting in Santiago del Estero is unrivaled anywhere else in Argentina. Your day begins with a full breakfast before you depart for the fields. The drives to the fields are relatively short, no more than 20 minutes at the most (depending on the weather and time of the season you are there). Most of the time you will be shooting around 15 minutes from the lodge.
There are uncountable millions of doves in heavy concentrations near the lodge. The shooting is in and around grain fields, water holes, roosts and tree lines. Most shooters average 40 boxes of shells per day but you can easily shoot more (or less) if you like. Another option is to shoot pigeons one day. The pigeons decoy like ducks and are an amazing game bird. The best time to shoot them is in May and June when the grain is being cut.
Most groups shoot 3-4 days. The four-day shooting package is our most popular as it gives everybody more time to relax and not be in such a hurry.
There are Benelli guns available to rent at the lodge. If you want to bring your own guns, we will supply you with the paperwork to carry them with you, but it is much easier to rent the lodge guns. Small bore ammunition is available. If you need 410 shells, please let us know well in advance.
The weather is generally sunny and dry throughout the entire season. The weather is usually warmer than other parts of Argentina because it is so far north which makes the winter mild. Lows are from the low 40’s and highs are in the mid 50’s to low 60’s. It rarely rains between April and October.
The great thing about this program is that it is in an area where there are no other shooters or outfitters around. The outfitter has a 70 mile exclusive radius around the lodge where no other outfitters can shoot – and there are very few outfitters in the province.
There are several daily non-stop flights from the US to Buenos Aires. United, American, Delta and Latam fly daily from Houston, Dallas, Atlanta, New York and Miami. All flights leave the US in the evening and arrive in Buenos Aires between 8 AM and 11AM. This gives you plenty of time to go across town to the domestic airport in Buenos Aires for your early to mid-afternoon flight to Tucuman. Tucuman is a two-hour non-stop flight from Buenos Aires. The lodge is a 90 minute drive from the airport. We will arrange your domestic flights for you with our travel agent in Buenos Aires. They issue e-tickets and we provide a copy of them before you leave. We can also arrange charter flights from Buenos Aires to the hunting area. This allows for much easier logistics and no waiting around in the domestic airport. If you charter, you can also shoot the afternoon you arrive.
Included: transfers from Tucuman airport to the lodge, accommodations at lodge, meals, drinks (including beer and wine), hunting license, transportation to and from the fields, bird boys, guides.
Not included: International or domestic airfare, transfers or tours in Buenos Aires, charters, hotels, meals or drinks in Buenos Aires, all tips, shotgun shells, hunting license or any items of a personal nature. Laundry is done daily, but please tip them for each load when you settle your shell bills etc. before you depart.
Our representativee will meet you upon arrival at the international airport and transfer you to the domestic airport across town, or a hotel. They speak excellent English and take great care to make sure you are well taken care of whether you go straight to the lodge or go into Buenos Aires for a night or two. When you return to Buenos Aires, they will meet you and take you to the International Airport and wait for you to get checked in and walk you upstairs to immigration where they will see you off.
